‘It never Rains but it Pours’. Such is the case of Nsungwaala village in Binga; another strong indication of the adverse effects of the Climate Change Impacts we are currently grappling with globally.
Reports we received today the 10ᵗʰ of February 2020 have indicated that floods have hit Nsungwaale village which is under chief Sinakoma in Binga due to incessant rains these past few days. People have been marooned, still stuck in trees at the centre of raging rivers.
“One man is reported to have been swept away in front of his wife” according to one local.
It is also reported that Nandobe bridge where the main river which was fed by the visible flooded tributary is was swept away. To make matters worse, there are reports that homes, food and subsistence resources have been washed away by the floods.
If reports are indeed representative of the extent of the disaster, then speedy help is desperately needed in these #BingaFloods.
